The Winter Den - Page 18 Empty Re: The Winter Den

"Big sister wins again!"

The female grinned at that point. As her sister nommed on her ear happily, leaving saliva on it she laughed. As Silver appeared, pinning down Falco into the snowy ground, she giggled, grinning happily at Silver. "Hello Silver!" She said in a happy tone. She then turned her head to Mahina, resting her head on top of her shoulder, "Big sisters always win little sisters." Luminah replied to her sister.

As Luminah replied, she suddenly heard a howl pierce through her ears. The female enjoyed howling and she had the urge to reply to this one, she decided not to at that point. Luminah noticed she had the chance to get her sisters ear, she softly grabbed it between her teeth, chewing on it softly not hard. As she nommed on her ear, she giggled, "Revenge once again." She said on a soft tone.

The Winter Den - Page 18 Empty Re: The Winter Den

Post by Maiara July 30th 2011, 11:01 pm

(I’ll just recap the past 50-ish pages and catch up XD...here we go O__O)

Maiara nodded coolly as the male answered her question and lowered himself into the proper position to show that he was willing to at least go through the motions of submissiveness even if he did not believe himself to be quite as low as his stature. This appeased her momentarily. It was easier to see the male in this stance than in his more natural pose, as this was a motion of the body that she couldn’t see Bayne in. He might have occasionally taken the stance, but it wouldn’t have seemed characteristic of him to do so. She realized that comparing Gale to Bayne was unfair of her: if she always looked at this loner and saw the destroyer within then he would never rise above that in her eyes. But then, if she looked past what could be, she would be unprepared for when his potential consumed and became him. However, whichever way she wanted to see it, she was, at least for the moment, unwilling to look past the similarities between Gale and Bayne. It was safer to be wary and unfair than it was to give him the benefit of the doubt and let herself be shocked when the time came that he would reveal his true intentions. When Elysia walked away and he followed, she felt her distrust for the dark male rise farther. In her mind’s eye she saw Bayne following Kira, stalking Silver. Normally it would have been his walking away, uncaring that he was traipsing about the territory unaccepted and without escort that would have set Maiara off. But in this instance it was that he walked away from her to go to Elysia, not to exchange friendly greetings but to toy with the female like a hunter with his prey that set her on edge. Nothing came of that, but still she waited, watching carefully.

His aggressive advance towards Altair however, pulled her to add her presence to the crowd; just to be there in case things got ugly. Her mind was buzzing mutedly in her head as Rune approached and nudged her quietly. As he pulled himself up to a dominant stance, the fuzz cleared from her mind, and she felt a strange strength from him which made her feel protected. She had no need to be protected, but with Rune beside her, tall and speaking authoritative words in a bold, cutting voice, she felt like she was standing behind a powerful shield. She loved him for his gentle nature, and his lightheartedness, but as he stood up to this loner that made the fur rise from her back, she found herself admiring her mate, and loving him even more. She looked to Gale’s eye’s before he departed, seeing their aggression, and although not showing it, fearing him and the harm he could possibly do to her family here. She found that she was easily glad to see him leave for the period of time.

But as the scent of blood rose in the air, and Taru introduced a new loner, Knife who had come wounded, Maiara’s thoughts were soon diverted. He had already been in contact with Soske but she had not revealed this to the pack, and that surprised her. She didn’t know Soske yet, but she had appeared to her to be an honest female. It was only when her quick eyes spotted Soske nuzzling the new face only a short distance away, that she held back a knowing smile, the intrigue of this secret affair that had occurred under all of their noses setting in. It irritated her slightly that the scholar had not reported the loner to them immediately, especially once she had become involved with the male. But Soske was young and it was difficult to make the right decisions when one was younger, especially when emotions ruled the mind stronger than any sense of instinct.

She was jolted slightly when Knife emerged from a dream and nearly attacked Akera, but knowing the brewing substance of nightmares, she shrugged it off as no more than that. She had known her share of nightmares. And sometimes waking from one and finding oneself in the jarring truth of reality was much more frightening than the actual dream.

Stirring from her thoughts of nightmares, Maiara saw the stir of a white pelt against the snow and felt the similar shock of coming about from a dream herself. But realizing quickly that the pelt belonged to another foreigner, she frowned. Loners always seemed to appear in great surges, raining (or perhaps snowing) down one moment, and leaving only a clear sky and full den site the next. The female was introduced by Mahina, and something about the pale wolf was familiar, but she didn’t voice her suspicion.

But before the stranger was so much as addressed, Rune appointed Taru as the new Delta. A smile quietly warmed her face as the petite wolf accepted her role with a joy that was almost electric. She would do the rank justice, and surely rise to the part. And within that she felt a certain pride for the scouts, as yet another from their legions having joined the leaders. Maiara wasn’t one to support favoritism, but she was always pleased when the scouts succeeded in a venture, or when a truly deserving scout gained a rank. She supposed that having been a former scout herself, she was reacting vainly, but that was irrelevant.

Easily distracted as always, her thoughts were soon returned to the pale loner that had been accompanied by Mahina. The two were frivolously playing about in the snow, and the alphess was sure now, that they must have known each other before this moment. Only when the female, Luminah it seemed she was named, spoke the word “sister”, did everything make sense to Maiara, as things always did when the last and most important segment of information in a situation was revealed, and everything became clear. The two were very similar, even from the slight distance.

A female appeared in the den site and announced herself. Marlie, she was named. True to her earlier thoughts, another storm of loners had arrived at the Banishing Winds, and she was glad that they now had Taru along with the rest of the council to assist the either denial or assimilation of wolves into the pack. Another female came into her gaze, then a male loner. So many! There were always large groups of loners joining at once, but she couldn’t recall there ever being as many as this.

Repetitively she heard the reply to the newcomers:
"The alpha's are not currently accepting anyone. However you may speak with one of them about what you are to do"
And soon, Kira had brought a loner before them. She seemed nice enough, but again Rune responded coldly. She could tell that the encounter with Gale had affected him, embittered him. It had affected her as well, but there was no reason to continue the charade of no acceptance to any passing loner, especially those who posed no threat and were willing to assist the pack with their own talents. Adena at least, responded admirably, stating her talents, and waiting patiently, in what she expected was a mix of hope and irritation.

But as for Gale, it seemed that the mere thought of him had conjured him up. The sight of him chilled her although no winter breeze brushed her coat. She straightened herself dominantly and listened to his apology that was so genuinely sincere in both wording and action, it surprised her. Maiara said nothing for the moment, but turned to Rune and swiftly licked his brow. She was reluctant, but she came to the conclusion that with such remorse she was seeing, the male could yet redeem himself as a pack member. But although it could have been her choice to make, she waited for Rune to say what he thought, as she knew that if Rune did not accept Gale himself, he would never be welcome as a pack member.

She hoped that in this second encounter with Gale, Rune would be able to have the closure of ending his battle against loners. If they had not been in the midst of others, she would have liked to have been able to quietly remind him that not all loners were enemies, even if they seemed so initially. She would have nuzzled his shoulder and reminded him of many of his friends that all once had been loners. She would have reminded him that she had once been a loner too, and what would he do without her? But as they were indeed in front of not only two loners, but in full view of others as well, she held back these words and affections, hoping that her brief lick would be able to display all this and remind him of himself. She pressed her side gently closer to Rune’s, but continued to hold herself tall, her face serious, and her thoughts silent, waiting for Rune to speak.

Akera wandered out of the forest to see many wolves in front of her. Her emerald eyes flicked from figure to figure, looking for the right ones. And then she saw them. She gestured with her nose. "See that tan and white wolf there? And the male standing next to her? Those are our alphas." She watched as many wolves seemed to surround them. She frowned a bit. "They seem rather busy right now...Probably sorting out some loner business by the scent of it. But it seems we shouldn't go down there just yet. They'll probably brush you off in the waves of loners that have been coming in." Akera looked to Link. "It's best to wait till things die down a bit. Then they can truly appreciate the gift you would be giving us by joining." She smiled and nudged the male a bit. The russet wolf then sat down on the edge of the forest, watching the scene from afar. She wanted Link to be accepted right now so that she could make sure his ears were saved. But one more loner could push Rune over the edge. "Can your ears hang on for a little longer?" She smirked a bit.

Link's ears seem to fold back slightly at the sight of all the wolves. He stuck close to Akera, almost tripping over her when she stopped. His eyes stopped on the two wolves that Akera had said were the alphas, and he gulped, one of his ears going back nervously. He let out a nervous, funny laugh. "I think so." He said flickering his ears to show her. 'So many loners...I highly doubt that one wolf with incredible speed will be accepted when all these wolves have been declined.' "I have my doubts." He whispered quietly, his eyes dropping to the snow.

"Your face is indeed the only lickable. Ever since I had to wake you up by slobbering all over your face, I just can't get enough of it,"

Elysia shivered slightly at the memory. Though she only gave Taru a skeptical glance. No matter Taru's reasons, Elysia did not enjoy having her face licked. She would find a way to wriggle out of Taru's slobbering grasp sooner or later. She had a habit, thats what it was. Taru had a bad habit - a face licking habit - and Elysia was going to break it. She grinned at her friends, her eyes shining in an old-Elysia kind of way. "I'm calling an intervention." There was amusement and the hint of a chuckle in her voice. "In the name of your obsessive face licking. Something has to be done. You're not my Rabbit Buddy when you're licking faces. Please, I want my Rabbit Buddy back!" She did her best mock sad face, putting in a dramatic flair just for fun. She was completely teasing. Taru wasnt influence by a desire to lick faces. And she only licked Elysia's face. She just did it to bug Elyisa, and because that was the kind of thing that Taru did.

"Elysia, he knows nothing about you. It was just way he works. Gale was able to do that to you because.... you let him. You have to have more faith in yourself, Ely. I know that you didn't want him to violate your mind like that. No one wants that. You were just caught off guard,"

Elysia wanted to beleive her friend, but the situation with Gale...it was different. It had been different. And in a way, Taru didnd and couldnt understand. Elysia wasnt caught off guard. She knew exactly what she was doing, what was happening at every moment. She hadnt stopped it or pulled away. She had given him permission, in the fact that she hadnt turned him away. And no one let Gale do things. He just did them. He didnt ask first or listen to others. He did as he pleased, whether one liked that or not. Elysia felt herself shiver and was suddenly grateful for Taru's warmth pressing against her back. Elysia laid her head down, resting it on her paws. She was pensive for a moment, trying to come up with a reply for Taru. She eventually sighed. "I wasnt caught off guard Tee. I wanted him there. If I had trusted my instincts, I would have turned him away. But he intrigued me." There she said it. The truth came out. Gale intrigued her. She continued in a sort of breathlessness. "He's the greatest mystery, the unsolvable puzzle. I just had to understand. I still want to."

Elysia was lying down facing Rune. Movement caught her gaze. Her eyes flicked up, alighting on a strikingly familiar massive shape. Elysia raised her head, her eyes wide with a combination of fear and releif as she locked her gaze on him. Gale. She spoke of him, his name, and he reappeared just like that. Elysia sucked in a breath. She watched as his gaze travelled the den area, then alighted on her. He was looking at her, watching her. She knew it. His gaze stayed on her for endless agonizing moments. Elysia couldnt hear exactly what he was saying, but he appeared submissive enough. Elysia looked to Maiara who seemed to bristle at his reappearance. Elysia was simultaneously thankful that Rune and Maiara would protect her from Gale - and horrofied at the thought of them turning him away. She turned her head, unable to tear her gaze from Maiara, Rune and Gale. Her words were a faint whisper, all her emotions laid out.

"Tee, he's back."

"I have my doubts."

Akera turned her head at the words, seeing the male looking at the ground. She nudged at his chin, bringing his head up. She took a deep breath. And then she licked him gently on the cheek. Smiling kindly, she spoke in a quiet voice. "What is there to doubt?" Her emerald eyes found his amber ones. "I have nothing but utter confidence in you. I know you will be accepted. They would be crazy not to. And if they don't, me and Sosy here will chase them down and rip off their ears until they do so." She smiled again, trying to cheer Link up.

Mahina raised an eyebrow as Luminah grabbed her ear. She stayed still and simply let her chew away at her ear, as it wasn't in her mind set to move. Her tail simply wagged as if she didn't care that her ear was all ruffled. "Oh, you got me? I didn't notice." She chuckled slightly.

Seeing Link and Akera in love made her think about Knife again. She heard a few howls from the distant and knew she would return them, she just did not know when. She loves Knife but would the Alphas think that she is not trusting of her by howling back. She was so confused. She wanted to show the pack they could trust her and that she is not horrible but after the attack with her best friend she did not know how too. She figured a simple howl could not disturb anyone. I will be right back. I want to howl back.... I am just going to go a little further in the woods. Soske was scared that her friend would think she was running away but she had no thoughts about it. Soske turned around and walked into the woods. She howled for a good long 30 seconds. She wondered if everyone would know that was her. She turned around and started to walk back to Akera. She hoped that not running after him would show she is for the pack and that they can trust her. All she could do is hope.

"I have been..." Silver said, thinking of a playful remark to get her mind off the current drama. Amusement flitted about her face. "Somewhere... Over the rainbow!" She said, a smile beginning to play about her. Her tail swayed, and She lowered her head to touch her nose to his. Her pale green eyes were electrified, twinkling with laughter that could be seen, but not heard. "Way up high..." She said musically.

"No, I was taking a nap. You know, pack drama and such, it tires me. " She replied realistically, ending her jokes, but amusement still lingered upon her.

Falco smiled at Silver's jokes previous to her seriousness. His ears twitched, as he watched her electric green eyes. Falco pawed at his mate playfully before sliding from under her and getting to his paws shaking the snow from his pelt. "Are you Hungry? he said as he looked to the carcass. He stretched out his long front legs as he looked to Silver, a smile painted over his face.

"No, I am quite content for now. How was the hunt?" Silver asked. She stepped off of his chest, laying in the snow next to him. The sky was beginning to dull, night beginning to chase the light across the horizon. She stared simply at the sky, waiting for an answer from Falco. Turning her head to face him, she looked at him expectantly.

So lame!

"I'm calling an intervention." There was amusement and the hint of a chuckle in her voice."In the name of your obsessive face licking. Something has to be done. You're not my Rabbit Buddy when you're licking faces. Please, I want my Rabbit Buddy back!"

The blueish black female felt the pull of a smile on her face. She knew exactly where Elysia was coming from. Taru knew and loved how much her rabbit buddy didn't like the fact her friend enjoyed licking her face. Perhaps she should stop? The thought had crossed her mind before, and seeing the shiver that passed through Elysia decided on it for her. She would try to give up her habit of running her tongue across Elysia's delicious face, just for the sake of her lovely friendship that was back with Ely. A warm smile spread across her muzzle, showing that she would indeed take into consideration her friend's distaste in the matter. Afterall, Elysia had gone to the trouble of calling an intervention.

"Everyone gets curious about another, it was probably just your wandering mind, Elysia. I bet if you ever find out what he is like, which you probably won't get the chance to considering Rune ran him off, you'll lose interest," It seemed as the words left Taru's black lips, the scent and sight of Gale overwhelmed the tiny wolf. She felt the need to look at her dear friend, but could only find the ability to stare as he submitted before Rune. Everyone seemed to be watching, including the pair that were curled around each other. When Elysia spoke, it her heart.

"Tee, he's back."

Hot panic flowed through her veins like blood, causing Taru to shake herself away from Elysia and stand. She didn't know what to do, what to say. The female wanted to protect her friend, to keep her away from him. It made anger rise in her belly, the sickening emotion threatening to break through Taru's sweet disposition. Anything, the female needed to think of anything to do. The wolfess needed to keep Elysia from being trapped by the words of Gale, yet he had already captured her eyes and attention. Taru would not let him violate Ely like he had done before, trespassing on her peace of mind. Yet, the female was weak, especially compared to this large male. She could not fight or scare him away from Elysia, no, that was not logical. Pale yellow eyes shifting down to look at her friend, a silent sob escaped her muzzle. Taru was helpless to this new threat. A sudden, last attempt, idea drifted to the surface of her mind. Her legs already felt weak, shaky against the new stress of Gale's reappearance. In a fluid motion, Taru let her rump sink as she sat down on Elysia's raised head. "No he's not, Ely," her voice a stricken whisper.

Falco smiled as Silver laid beside him, he thought over the hunt as she had questioned him. He glanced to her about to start, seeing the expectant look on her face he tilted his head slightly to his mate, wondering what she was expecting. His ears flicked back lightly as he thought again. "It was a relatively easy hunt, the calf had separated from its herd. Akera and I chased it, then realised that it was too close to the den and had to bring it down. So we did. Akera got a kick to the eye, but she's okay, well she says.... Enough about me, how was your nap? You've been disappearing a lot lately' he questioned her slightly suspicious of where she had been venturing to. He nuzzled into her neck, and then began to groom her fur.

As Luminah let go of her sisters ear, she left her brown ear covered in saliva as she rested her head gently onto her shoulder. "Oh, you got me? I didn't notice." With her sister reply, it made her roll her eyes as she let out a giggle. "Oh whatever." She said in a sarcastic tone. She was just playing around with her big sister. Her tail began sweeping the snow as it wagged side to side, happy to be with one member of her family. The rest.. she didn't care. As long as she was with her member that she loved it, she was in a happy mood.
She let a short yawn escape her jowls as she showed all of her alabaster coated canines and her tongue rolling. She closed her mouth, letting out a audible click from her canines snapping together. As her lazy yawn stopped she continued on with laying her head on her sisters shoulder. Mahina's fur kept her warm and she was exhausted from the trip she had to take to get far to here. At this point, Luminah knew she had to rest and she did. The white female began closing her blue eyes, drifting into a deep sleep.

Mahina gave a small smile when Luminah started falling asleep on her shoulder. The female lay there, ensuring not to move so much as to wake her sister. "Silver, Falco, would one of you mind bringing me a chunk of meat? I don't want to wake her up." She whispered towards the two, her tail flicking slightly. Everything was as it should be now. Mahina had her friends, and now she had her family as well. Nothing else mattered now, cause that was all she needed to keep waking up every morning despite what little hope she had left.

Falco had been busy grooming his mates fur, still awaiting a response to his question. He resting his head on top of her neck, sighing softly. The hunter lifted his head hearing Mahina's words he nodded and got to his paws slowly, walking over to the carcass, he dug his teeth deep into the flesh on the thigh. He tugged back, and with a bit of effort pulled the meat from the bone. He had fallen back on his haunches. The white male then got back to his paws and gave an unsatisfied shake, as he walked to where Mahina lay. He dropped the meat in front of her paws, and whispered "Here you go" He licked his mouth, smiled to Mahina and walked back to Silver's side, laid back down beside her, going back to grooming her fur.

Mahina smiled at Falco. "Thank you." She reached down and dug her teeth into meat, her brown muzzle being stained with blood. She gnawed quietly, soon leaving just a small chunk of fat. The female licked her lips and rested her head on her paws, closing her eyes to fall asleep as well.

Akera got a kick to the eye, but she's okay, well she says.... Enough about me, how was your nap? You've been disappearing a lot lately"

Silver couldn't help but feel some, though a small amount, remorse for the calf. It had been young, young and silly, and now it was dead. What of Silver, she had been young, yet rather stupid, and she was alive. Life, she guessed, isn't bountiful fairness. No, rather, it made fairness in large amounts. But, large amounts means that some won't get their share.

What about her disappearing often? Well, yes, with drama she did tend to doze off and try to sleep to escape it. Then, months ago, her mother. A pang of guilt and pain fluttered through her. If she had been sooner, her mother would still exist in this world. She had no parents. But she did have...

As Falco settled beside her once again, excitement was grasping Silver. A small smile made her get a suddenly happy and static look. She was amused, happy, and other emotions all in one bundle. But first, she would answer Falco's question. Then, if he asked why she was looking so happy all the sudden, she would tell him of her and Kira's discovery.

"My nap was good, no dreams of trees falling on me or being chased off a cliff by He-Who-Must-Not-Be-Named, the other one, not Voldemort. So, consequently, it was good!" Silver said, feeling Falco's tongue brush across her fur.

The Winter Den - Page 18 Empty Re: The Winter Den

Post by Guest July 31st 2011, 5:08 pm

Elysia didnt notice Taru's hesitation or the dropping of the face-licking conversation. Elysia had been completely teasing. Sure she didnt love having her face licked, but she didnt exactly mind it either. She only made a big deal about it because it was a never ending joke between Taru. Taru's massive grin hid her thoughts well from Elysia. And despite it all, Elysia felt her own lips stretching into a reply grin. Taru had that effect on Elysia, she had for as long as Elysia could remember. Elysia remembered when Taru had first approached - Elysia had been conversing with Soran and Spirit. Or more of stalking Soran. Taru had strutted up, her chest puffed up like a balloon. Really it had been quite ridiculous. But friendship was friendship and that was what mattered.

"Everyone gets curious about another, it was probably just your wandering mind, Elysia. I bet if you ever find out what he is like, which you probably won't get the chance to considering Rune ran him off, you'll lose interest,"

Elysia's smile faltered and she shook her head. Gale was here now, as if summoned. Everything was concentrated on him, Elysia's eyes, her thoughts, even her conversations. She couldnt escape him, no matter where he went. She rolled her shoulders, both uncomofortable and releived to be within his presence again. She kept her eyes on Gale as she replied to Taru. "My wandering mind doesnt latch, Taru. It just kind of...wanders. I hop from one thing to the next, never caring about the think I've left behind." She shook her head slightly. "I cant hop away from Gale, nor move on from him. I'm latched onto him." for better or for worse she finished silently. She wasn't going to lose interest, or at least she didnt beleive so. The way he looked at her, the way she was watching him in return, losing interesting just didnt seem at all likely.

"No he's not, Ely,"

Elysia heard the words muffled. Of course they would have been clear, if there was not a large furry behind covering Elysia's head. She let out a startled yelp, spitting out Taru's fur. "Let me go! Get off my head! I use that!" Her friend had sat squarely on her head. Taru's weight, especialy concentrated, was too much for Elysia to shove off. She was stuck lying on her stomach, her paws spread out awkwardly and her head hidden somewhere in Taru's fur. Her front paws flailed and scrabbled at Taru - trying to shove her away, but to no avail. Elysia thought quickly, going completely limp. Everyone knew how to play dead, just lull to predator - or the bucket of lard in this case - into security. Then when her moment came, Elysia would strike. For the briefest of moments, thoughts of Gale were gone.

The Winter Den - Page 18 Empty Re: The Winter Den

Falco continued to groom his mates fur as he laid beside her, she seemed to take her time to think of a response, he was patient, a virtue to him that made Falco the hunter he was today. His ears laid flat across the back of his grey neck. The same coloured eyes remained closed as the cool breeze flowed through his fur.

"My nap was good, no dreams of trees falling on me or being chased off a cliff by He-Who-Must-Not-Be-Named, the other one, not Voldemort. So, consequently, it was good!"

His darkened ears perked and his eyes flashed open, as he listened to what seemed an amused Silver. What was she so amused and happy about, weren't they relaxing? He stopped grooming her neck momentarily to laugh lowly as he looked to his mate slightly confused.

"What's gotten into you? Where'd my calm and relaxed Silver go?"

He asked light heartedly as he looked to her teasingly. He rolled over onto his side playfully as he pawed at his mate.

"I have nothing but utter confidence in you. I know you will be accepted. They would be crazy not to. And if they don't, me and Sosy here will chase them down and rip off their ears until they do so."

Link let out a laugh and grinned. He slid his muzzle near her ear and spoke softly, "Well someone has to hold the confidence if the other doesn't." he stepped back and studied her carefully, his ears flicking every so often as the wind tickled them. Link's gaze flickered away from her and to the two alphas again and then to a male wolf. His pose was more submissive, but everyone seemed quiet and tense at his presence. He could only guess that this was the loner that had seemed threatening. He wrinkled is nose and let out a sigh, throwing his head back to gaze into the sky of swirling snow.

"What's gotten into you? Where'd my calm and relaxed Silver go?"

"Your calm and relaxed Silver got shoved in a corner when me and Kira found out we were cousins!" Silver said, smiling exuberantly. She pushed her paws before her, pressing his to his chest playfully. She was excited for his reaction, and that showed obviously, one could easily tell by her expression.

Akera's ear twitched as Link's breath tickled it. She looked to him, kindness in her eyes. "Once again, you have a point. But wouldn't it be much better if both someones held the confidence? You have nothing to doubt." She watched him, wondering what was going on in his head. 'Why can't he just see how perfect he is?' Link's eyes moved to the wolves nearby, but Akera kept her gaze on the male. She saw his nose wrinkle and a sigh slip from his lips. She frowned a little. Moving a bit closer, she nudged him gently. "What's wrong Slinky?"

"Once again, you have a point. But wouldn't it be much better if both someones held the confidence? You have nothing to doubt."

Link smiled and spoke without looking at her. "True. But sometimes it takes one to hold the confidence until it rubs off onto the other." he told her and breathed in the scent of winter. Link kept his head held to the sky but let his eyes glance at Akera. She seemed to be thinking about something. A frown crossed his face but it was faint and not noticeable. Link lowered his head as her fur brushed his shoulder and he met her eyes. "Thinking. That's all." he said and lifted his head once more to the sky, closing his eyes and letting the snow melt on his eyelids.

((Have to go, bye!))

"Thinking. That's all."

Akera took a deep breath as he looked to her, breathing in his musky scent. "About something good, I hope." She didn't want to pry. She knew that if he wanted her to know, he would most likely tell her. And Akera was content just to sit here in silence. She observed as Link watched the sky and closed his eyes. Looking up, she saw snowflakes falling down. An immediate shiver coursed through her. She cursed her short, thin coat. She gave a small growl as she felt the cold start to seep into her. Survival instinct drew her to the nearest source of warmth. She scooted closer to Link until her side was up against his warm pelt. "Sorry. I'm a body heat thief, seeing as I don't make any of my own. I hope you don't mind. The cold doesn't like me very much." As she spoke the words, another shiver ran through her. Even though it wasn't that cold out, not nearly as bad as the storm, Akera felt like she was freezing. Link's warmth was starting to gradually help her though.
